Challenges
and Highlights of the Course:
Hole
6: Relatively short with 350 yards, a 200 yard tee-off is required
to clear the lagoon that connects with the Pacific in front of
El Palmar Beach. The second shot to the green, generally with
a short 9 iron has to hit right in order to avoid the beach and
the ocean that are on the left. The view from this hole is splendid
as it overlooks the bay of Ixtapa with its hotel zone and the
white sands of El Palmar Beach.
Hole 7: Spectacular from the tee to the green. Along this hole
there is a lake. The green is surrounded by water on one side
and sand on the other. Optimal precision is required.
Hole 13: The green is in front of the lagoon and surrounded by
sand traps, which is why you will need a very precise drive in
order to hit it. A deflected shot will land the ball in a lake
inhabited by crocodiles.
Hole 14 and 15: Both holes are surrounded by a lake on one side
and jungle on the other, which is why a very precise drive is
necessary.

Challenges
and Highlights of the Course:
Hole
1: Par 5, this is probably your best opportunity for
a “birdie”, so take your best shot because further
along “birdies” are harder to achieve.
Hole 4: Par 4, needs a very exact drive because
there is water to the right and hills to the left. Any approach
on such a protected green is quite a challenge.
Hole 9: Par 4, with water from the tee to the
green on the left hand side and sand traps on the right. Hitting
the green requires an approach over a long lake that is home
to a lot of crocodiles. They do not eat golfers but they like
to watch the game while sunbathing. So make sure to bring your
camera!!
Hole 12: Par 4, pretty long with a sharp curve
to the right. Out of limits to the left and jungle on the right
make this a difficult hole. The approach is towards a severely
elevated green surrounded by sand.
Hole 16: Par 4, long with a sharp curve to
the left and increasing difficulty as the water is running from
the tee to the green on the left hand side. Hole with handicap
1 and the first out of three very difficult closing holes.
Hole 17: Par 3, signature hole with 150 yards
from water to green and completely surrounded by sand and hills.
Hole 18: Par 5, known as the “Devil’s
Hole”, and with 609 yards one of the most difficult par
fives. With water from the tee to the green along the entire
left side and series of sand traps along the right. Driving
towards a very narrow green surrounded by more water on the
left hand side and sand on the right. A par right here is truly
something surprising!!
