Zihuatanejo & Ixtapa - Horseback Riding
The largest local stable is located on Playa Linda, just north of Ixtapa next to the pier where the water taxis debark to Ixtapa Island. Available tours will lead you down the beach and up the river through coconut plantations, jungle and alongside wetlands populated with a variety of birds and wildlife. They even have ponies for the smaller children.
A few meters from the beach on the drive to Playa Larga (between Zihuatanejo and the airport) you will discover a small stable with horses for rent. In Zihuatanejo the horses are available for rent on Playa Larga and Barra de Potosi. Laguna de Potosi to see a variety of birds including great blue herons and pelicans.


Horseback on the Beach - Join Elisabeth Ashe for a 3 hour adventure riding down the beach of Playa Larga, thru jungle, mangrove and banana plantations and to a typical Mexican Village. Halfway we rest at a wonderful Mexican Restaurant and if you like, you can take a quick dip in the large swimming pool there. Price for ride is $500 pesos ($450 pesos goes to stables and $50 pesos goes to Projects Zihua see www.projectszihua.com for more info. I also have one hour rides for less experienced riders for only $200 pesos and $50 pesos of this ride goes to charity as well. Rides with me are from the end of November to April each year.
